Thema: Blow-off for SRC

Norcy - 24.5.2005 um 17:22

Hi All!

I'm an hungarian Smart Roadster Coupé (SRC) owner. In Hungary this car is very rarery therefore none any hungarian smart forum or club.
My problem is: I want to hear louder blow-off noise than I basicly heard. I search on the internet "how can I make louder" blow-off, but I don't find any solution about this problem. I allways find "build in an blow-off valve", but don't find any "tutorial" about this, and I don't think this is a perfect solution.
Question: Is there anybody here, who know a good solution about "basic blow-off loudering"?

Thanks all...

(Sorry for my bad english.)

Dear Ergie,

Thanks the Welcome...

Dear F. aus B.,

First of all I need to tell: I don't speak german, therefore I hard to find anything on this site.
Thanks the "ML TUNING", I search about this word on the internet, but first I find only an "DreamBikes & Parts" firm (www.ml-tuning.de). At last I find an "Slovenska" firm, but I don't find a correct homepage (I think). Can You write where can I find this firm, or You know anybody, who have ever order from this firm?

Thanks.

Hi F. aus B. (maybe Bonn ? )

Ahh... Yes I find that page. Interesting, and quite good, (yeah, I know I'm a rookie...ect.) but I can't find the answer my problem...
First of all I don't think I understand everything on that page, because I don't speak german.
At second, I see many good things, but this firm is (like in the beginig of Star Wars) "far far away" from my home.
At last I see many solution for "how can I loudering my SRC engine" (for example: set a new exhaust system), but I can't see any solution for a "louder blow-off". I need to hear a big "Pffff!" noise, when I shift up! (Like in the Fast&Furious2 when the Skyline shift up! )
Do You know how can I order (from Hungary) anything from this ML TUNING firm?

Dear Smile,

Thanks the 2 links, but I think You misunderstand me. I don't want to change anything on the engine. If I have any chanse to lourering the "original" blow-off noise I do it. If it not works, I built in my Nordgren safety-valve which can adjusted 0 to 1.3 barg (and the price is quarter the blow-off valve).

Hang on.. are you seriously saying you want to make the turbo whistle QUIETER?? What fun would that be? The whistle is about the only acoustic attraction of an otherwise rather dull sounding engine. Ok.. I'll admit you don't need it to indicate gear switch but castrating it off? Never...

(funny enough.. all the other replys in this thread suggest pumping it up)

Hi Pierre!

He told something like:

>> want to hear louder blow-off noise

Think he's crazy of this noise and cannot get enough!

Hi Pierre!

Who said: "Quiter"??? I said: "Louder", it's mean bigger niose or higher volume... etc.! My problem is: I want to hear louder "turbo-sound", but I don't want to set in a blow-off valve! Off course if it's not works, I will build something, but first of all I want to find an "easyer way" to do this.
